New York City ferry BROOKLYN – 1930 The "BROOKLYN" was one of the first five ferries built specifically for the New York City Staten Island Ferry. The "BROOKLYN" was built in 1905, had a length of 246 feet, a width of 48 feet and 18 foot draft. Double compound steam boilers generated 3,500 horsepower. The "BROOKLYN" was scrapped in 1947.
