Scotland Whistler Buoy – 1965 The old "Whistler" buoy at "Scotland Grounds" off Sandy Hook, NJ circa 1965. Its official name was Scotland Lighted Horn Buoy "S". The buoy originally marked the location of the wreck of the "SS SCOTLAND" that sank in 1868 on a shoal off Sandy Hook called the Outer Middle Bar.
