CAPT. STARN VI, Atlantic City, NJ – 1975
The "CAPT. STARN VI" is shown during a private cruise prior to her maiden voyage in 1975. Gulf Craft built the boat at Patterson, LA for owner and operator Captain Clarence Apel, who sailed her from Atlantic City, NJ. Captain Clarence Starn was the original owner and operator of Captain Starn's until he passed away in 1969. His namesake restaurant and fleet of fishing and excursion boats was a seaside staple for decades. Captain Starn's nephew, Captain Clarence Apel ran the business after his demise.
In 1979, the boat became Captain Andrew Applegate's "APPLEJACK" from Atlantic City. After another change of owners and a remodeling, the boat is presently sailing as Captain Bill Cunningham's "MISS CAPE ANN" and does whale watching from Gloucester, MA.
