Gulf Craft Boats

In March 2006, we added the first set of Gulf Craft Inc. boat photos to Mike's Maritime Memorabilia. And now, we are adding a second set of photos. Family owned and operated since its inception in 1965, the company is now named Gulf Craft, LLC and located in larger quarters at Franklin, Louisiana. All of the boats in this second set were built at their former location at Patterson, Louisiana and are shown on the slow and meandering waters of Bayou Teche.

Gulf Craft made their name building rugged aluminum offshore crew boats for the oil industry. In 1972, they took their proven hull design and built one of the world's earliest aluminum party fishing boats, the "SHADY LADY".

Our May additions include thirty photographs of Gulf Craft boats all taken shortly after launching into Bayou Teche and we can see them with their original colors and fittings. All of these boats are still sailing today; a testament to their sturdy construction and the craftsmen that built them at Gulf Craft. Appreciated by many boatmen and a host of recreational fishermen for over forty years, Gulf Craft boats will continue sailing our local waters for many years to come.

We thank SCOTTY TIBBS II of Gulf Craft, LLC for providing us with his company's file photos and background information.
