BROOKLYN V, Brooklyn, NY – 1977
Captain Bob Sapanara's "BROOKLYN V" is shown here running down the bayou at full throttle during the summer of 1977. AlumaShip Corp began her construction in early 1977 at Jeanerette, LA, but due to financial difficulties, the shipyard was unable to complete the boat. The unfinished hull was transported to Gulf Craft Inc. at Patterson, LA where she was finished and delivered to Captain Bob Sapanara in July 1977. She was one of the fastest party boats in the region and later sailed as Captain Kevin Bradshaw's "DOROTHY B VIII" from Sheepshead Bay and then as Captain Larry Horowitz's "SUPER VOYAGER II" from Calabash, NC. The boat is presently sailing as the "DOLPHIN EXPRESS" from Port Aransas, TX. Photo courtesy of Scotty Tibbs II and Gulf Craft Inc.
