CAPT. BILL VAN, Belmar, NJ – 1974
Captain Bill Van Wetering's "CAPT. BILL VAN" was built by Gulf Craft Inc., and in 1974, joined the Belmar, NJ party boat fleet. She is shown in this photo before making the trip from Patterson, LA to Belmar, NJ. This photo also is unique, as it shows her original color scheme (the aqua and white colors were very popular at the time. After sailing from Belmar for several years, she was sold and became Captain Arnold 'Speedy' Hubert's "SPEEDY EXPRESS" from Captree, NY, and later sailed as the "ZEPHYR VI" from Gloucester, MA. She returned to New Jersey in 1998 and sailed as Captain John Connell's "CAPTAIN JOHN" from Keyport, NJ, and then sailed as Captain Jeff Gutman's "VOYAGER" from Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. In early 2015, she was purchased by Captain Rob Andresen and sails as his "CAPTREE PRINCESS" from Captree, NY. Photo courtesy of Scotty Tibbs II and Gulf Craft Inc.
