SEA PIGEON IV, Perth Amboy, New Jersey – 1986 Captain Marty Haines' "SEA PIGEON IV" returns to the Perth Amboy Marina from her maiden voyage on May 17, 1986. Built in 1975 by East Bay Boat Works at Harkers Island, NC as Captain Ron Robbins' "HOLIDAY", she first sailed from Cape May, NJ. She later became Captain Jack Endean's "HOLIDAY" from Point Pleasant, NJ and after that became Captain Al Coley's "BETTY W III" from Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, NY. In 1986, Captain Coley sold the boat to Captain Marty Haines Jr. The "SEA PIGEON IV" caught fire at her dock on Christmas Eve 1998 and soon afterwards returned to Gillikin Boatworks where she underwent a full renovation that unfortunately did not include the restoration of her fine mahogany vanish work. In 2007, she became Captains Tim and Lauren Griffith's "MIDDLEBANK II" and now sails from Bridgeport, CT. Mike and Mel were on this trip. Can you spot them in the photo?
