ASSOCIATION OF SURF ANGLING CLUB’S - MEN’S OPEN SURF ANGLING TOURNAMENT | The Association will hold its 8th Annual Men's Open Surf Fishing Tournament Fund Raiser
on September 9th, in Brigantine, NJ. This event is open to all men and boys and offers Prize Money, 50/50 and Calcutta awards. Following the tournament, a free luncheon is available for participants.
Date: Registration is 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM and fishing time is 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM Saturday September 6, 2008 Location: Brigantine Elks Lodge, 400 W Shore Dr., Brigantine, NJ Entry fee: $20 adults, $5 boys under age 13

| September 19 | POINT PLEASANT BEACH - ANNUAL DECORATED BOAT PARADE
| The Boro of Point Pleasant Beach will be hosting its annual decorated boat parade on Friday, September 19. This year's theme is 'Mardi Gras' and there will categories for
lighted and unlit boats decorated for the parade. The parade starts at about 6:00 PM for unlit boats and about 8:00 PM for lighted boats. Prizes for the parade winners include a ride on the Horizon Blue Cross blimp, and parasailing and restaurant gift certificates. Food and entertainment will be available to the public at the Inlet Parking Lot, Point Pleasant Beach.
Vessels 20-feet and above are encouraged to participate. A captain's meeting/dinner is at 7:00 PM Thursday, September 18 at the Point Pleasant Elks, 820 Arnold Ave, Point Pleasant, NJ.
Date: Starting 6:00 PM Friday, September 19, 2008 Location: The parade route begins at the railroad bridge in the Manasquan Inlet, proceeds east out to the ocean, and south to Jenkinson's Beach and back. Admission fee: $40 per boat

FALL NEW JERSEY BOAT SHOW | 21st annual New Jersey fall boat show. More than 300 boats on display. Over 60
participating manufacturers. Boat lengths up to 33 feet. Not only boats… A variety of boating and marine products will be available at the show.

| October 4 | NAVAL WEAPONS STATION EARLE - TACKLE THE PIER FISHING TOURNAMENT |
Now this is a unique fishing opportunity!
Fishing on or around the US NAVY'S EARLE PIER that juts out over two miles into Sandy Hook Bay from Leonardo, NJ is normally off-limits to the fishing public.
In August, the Navy Ball Committee sponsored a first-of-its-kind fishing tournament from the US Navy pier that was such a success; they will hold a second-of-its-kind event on Saturday, October 4. This time, it is a Striped Bass fishing tournament.
Prizes include $100 cash for both the largest Striped Bass and the largest fish of any other variety for entrants over 12 years of age. Registrants 12 years of age or younger with the largest bass and largest fish of any other variety will receive fishing poles. There will also be other prizes. Food and beverages, hats, visors, and tee shirts with the MWR-Earle logo will also be available. An awards ceremony will immediately follow the close of the tournament.
It is indeed a privilege that we are able to use this facility for recreational sporting events, at all, so do not miss it!

| October 4 | SURF FISHING WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN | New Jersey Outdoors for Women Surf Fishing Workshop. Participants will learn about rods, reels, weights, line, tackle, knots, bait, fish identification, casting, reading the surf, and caring for your catch. The afternoon will be spent on the beach using techniques learned to fish the surf. Open to women only. You must be
at least 18 years old. No surf fishing experience needed. All equipment and bait will be provided.

GOVERNOR’S SURF FISHING TOURNAMENT | The sixteenth annual New Jersey Governor's Surf Fishing Tournament is held on the
first Sunday in October at Island Beach State Park. A variety of species are eligible for entry in the tournament each year and overall length determines the winner. The individual who catches the overall largest fish wins the 'Governor's Award' and has his/her name engraved on the Governor's Cup, which is permanently displayed at the park. Fishing equipment will be awarded to winners who catch the largest
fish in each species category. Participants must be present during a 2:00 PM afternoon awards ceremony to claim their prizes.

| October 18 | USCG AUXILIARY FLOTILLA 44 - BOATING COURSE (ABOUT BOATING SAFETY) | USCG Auxiliary Flotilla 44, Sewaren, NJ is offering the ABOUT BOATING SAFETY course. Upon successful completion of the ABS course, you will receive a certification and a NJ State Boating Safety Certificate. The NJ State Boating Safety Certificate allows the
individual to operate a personal watercraft and operate a recreational motorboat on NJ waters. Pre-registration for this 8-hour course is required due to limited number of seats. Gift certificates are available.
